Affordable website design, with the price on the page.
No discovery call before you're allowed to know what it costs. Here's exactly what I build, what it includes, and what you'd pay.
Websites that do a job for your business
Every build below is custom — designed for your business rather than picked from a template gallery.
New business websites
You've just started out and need to look established from day one. A clean, fast site that tells people what you do, why you're worth calling, and how to reach you. This is the most common first project and it's designed to launch a website fast.
DIY website rebuilds
You made something yourself on a builder and you've outgrown it. I rebuild it properly, keep what worked, and move your domain across without downtime. See the DIY upgrade page.
Service & local business sites
Multi-page sites for trades, clinics, salons, consultants and contractors — a page per service so each one can rank for what people actually search for locally.
Landing pages & custom projects
A single high-converting page for an ad campaign or product launch, or something more bespoke — booking flows, calculators, integrations. Quoted individually.
Fixed prices, agreed before I start
Agency-quality work at solo-developer prices — because there's no office, no sales team and no account manager to pay for.

Just need a landing page?
You don’t always need a whole website. If you’re sending paid traffic, an email list or a social campaign somewhere, one focused page that does a single job will beat a five-page site every time. One headline, one offer, one call to action, and nothing else competing for attention.
$100 one-off, and no monthly plan.
Hosting on Vercel is included for the first year — campaign pages rarely need
longer. Or I’ll send you the source code as a zip file to put wherever you like.
- Built around one clear call to action
- Loads fast, so you don’t burn ad spend
- Form or booking wired straight to you
- Tracking ready for Meta or Google Ads
- A year of Vercel hosting, or zipped to you
Never think about your website again
Entirely optional. It exists because most owners want a website, not a second job. Cancel any time — you keep the site either way.
Website hosting and maintenance plan, all in one.
- Hosting on Vercel, domain & SSL — all renewals handled
- Monthly website maintenance — security patches and speed checks
- Website updates included — 2 hours of text, photo or content changes every month
- Automatic backups — restorable if anything ever goes wrong
- Uptime monitoring — I find out it's down before you do
- Priority support — you email me, not a ticket queue
- Extra work at $30/hour — only past your 2 included hours, always agreed first
Being straight with you
This is a subscription, and I'm not going to dress it up as anything else. What it buys is the hosting your site needs to be online, plus maintenance and 2 hours of changes a month. The difference from a website builder is what you're left holding: you get the source code, so the design and content you paid for can go to any developer.
If you'd rather host it yourself
Say so at the start and we'll price the build on its own. You'd get the source code to deploy wherever you like, and owe me nothing monthly. It does mean hosting, renewals, security and updates become your job or your developer's — worth knowing before you choose it.
Bigger monthly needs?
If you need regular new pages, blog posts published, or ongoing changes, tell me roughly how much and I'll quote a larger plan rather than nickel-and-diming you by the hour.
Cheaper than it looks, once you do the maths
You’re already paying someone for hosting every month. The question is what you get on top of it.
of my time each month
my hourly rate
before hosting is counted
The plan is $49. The included edit time alone is worth more than the fee — which makes the hosting, backups, security updates and monitoring effectively free.
| Each month you get | Website builder | Basic web hosting | SwansonX care plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical cost | $16–$46/mo | $5–$20/mo | $49/mo |
| Hosting, SSL & domain | Included | Hosting only | Included |
| Someone making your edits | No — you do them | No — you do them | 2 hours a month, by me |
| Backups & security updates | Platform’s, not yours | Your job | Handled |
| Uptime monitoring | You find out from customers | You find out from customers | I find out first |
| Who answers when it breaks | A help centre article | A support ticket about the server | Me, within 24 hours |
| The design itself | A template you assembled | Not included at all | Custom-built for your business |
Builder prices are their own published rates and shift with plan and billing period. The real difference isn’t the number — it’s that with a builder you’re still the one logging in at 10pm to change your opening hours.
What your website is actually made of
You're paying for this, so here's the honest technical answer in plain English — including what it costs me and what happens if you leave.
| Part | What I use | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|
| The website itself | Custom code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) | Written by hand for your business. No template, no builder, no bloat — which is why it loads fast and ranks well. |
| Hosting | Vercel | A global network that serves your site from wherever is closest to the visitor. HTTPS, backups and monitoring included. |
| Database | Supabase | Only if your site needs to store something — bookings, accounts, orders, enquiries. Open-source, and your data exports out any time. |
| Domain name | Registered in your name | Registered in your name wherever possible, so the web address stays yours whatever else changes. |
Why I tell you this
Plenty of web people keep the stack vague on purpose — it makes leaving feel risky and makes the work sound like magic. It isn't magic. These are ordinary professional tools, and knowing what they are means you can get a second opinion, hire someone else, or take the whole thing in-house whenever you want.
What happens if you leave
Honestly: the site comes offline, because the care plan is what pays for the hosting keeping it up. What you keep is the source code, your content, your data and your domain, and you can hand all of it to any developer to put back online. There's no exit fee and I won't hold your files. That's still more than a website builder leaves you with — there, the design simply disappears.
Website design in a few days, not a few months
A rough timeline for a Starter Site. Business Sites usually run about twice as long.
Day 1
We talk, I send you a fixed quote and a short list of what I need from you.
Day 2–3
You send content. I design and build the real thing, on a private preview link.
Day 4–5
You review it and ask for changes in plain English. I make them same-day.
Day 6–7
Domain, hosting and SSL go live. I walk you through it and hand everything over.
Pricing questions, answered
Why is this so much cheaper than an agency?
Because you're paying for the work, not the overhead. There's no office, no project manager, no sales team and no account handler taking a cut. You get agency-quality output at a solo developer's price, and you talk to the person actually building it.
Is 00 really the full price?
Yes — $300 is the full build cost for a one-page Starter Site. The only things that change that number are extra pages or custom functionality, and you'd know before I started. The $49/month care plan is separate and covers running the site once it's live. I don't send surprise invoices.
What do you need from me?
Your logo if you have one, some photos, and a rough idea of what you want each page to say. If writing isn't your thing, I'll help with the words — that's included on Business Sites.
Do I need the care plan?
If you want me hosting and looking after it, yes — it's what keeps the site online. If you'd rather not have a monthly cost, tell me before we start and I'll quote the build on its own, hand you the code, and you arrange hosting yourself. What I won't do is take the monthly and pretend it's optional.
What if I want to leave later?
The site comes offline when the plan stops, since that's what's paying for the hosting. But you keep the source code, your content and your domain, so any developer can put it back up without rebuilding it. No exit fee, and I won't hold anything back.
Do you take payment up front?
Half up front to book the work in, half on launch. For custom projects we'd agree a schedule that suits the size of the build.
Ready when you are.
Tell me about your business and I'll send back a fixed price and an honest timeline within 24 hours.
